PC/SC Zero is a contactless smart card reader series, operating on 13.56MHz frequency and adhering to ISO7816, ISO14443A/B, and ISO15693 standards.
It features a USB CCID interface that enables a true plug-and-play operation without any driver installation, across various platforms and operating systems.
PC/SC Zero devices operate using an extended APDU command data set for communication with smart cards. This feature is beneficial for applications requiring the transfer of large volumes of data, such as digital signature verification, biometrics verification, secure transactions, and more.
Unlike most PC/SC card readers, our PC/SC Zero offers built-in key storage capabilities for MIFARE® Classic keys. This feature will soon be expanded to include secure storage of AES security keys for ISO 14443-4 cards.
Its most common application areas include integrating PCs with NFC RFID peripherals, electronic identity (eID) applications, identity validation, vending machines, e-kiosks, and so on.
µPC/SC Zero Series NFC Smart Card Readers are primarily intended for system integrators, development companies, and IT professionals for applications and turnkey solutions development, as well as for deployment as a part of secure systems for identity verification, payment processing, access control, and many more.
Thanks to their adherence to the PC/SC standard, these devices are universally compatible with most PC/SC software, ensuring seamless integration across a wide range of applications.

RFID NFC readers’ RF communication is based on its robust, highly integrated PN7462 NXP IC interface. The uFR Zero devices operate on HF 13.56 MHz and communicate with cards, labels, wristbands, and tags of ISO/IEC 15693, ISO/IEC 14443 A, and ISO/IEC 14443 B standard. With outstanding modulation and demodulation concepts, and many integrated 13.56 MHz contactless communication protocols, device implementation becomes reliable and simple for every RFID NFC solution developer.
Thanks to its modular design, the functionality of the PC/SC Zero Series can be further expanded by adding various modules. Available modules include Access Control with integrated solid state relays, RGB LEDs, OLED displays, PIN pad, Wiegand interface, RS485 interface, SAM card slots, RTC (Real-Time Clock) and more. Custom development of modules is also possible on customer request.

The PN7462 NFC controller uses specialized PC/SC firmware, transforming it into a universally recognized smart card reader. This firmware is developed to align the PN7462 with the widely adopted PC/SC standard used in secure smart card applications.
By implementing the CCID specification, the firmware enables seamless integration with various operating systems that inherently support the PC/SC framework, providing a true plug-and-play experience without the need for additional drivers or custom software.
Developers can confidently build applications and turnkey solutions on a common foundation, knowing that the communication between the reader and the host system adheres to industry standards.
The integrated secure key storage distinguishes PC/SC Zero Series devices from competitors while significantly enhancing the security of any system in which they are deployed.
PC/SC Zero hardware also supports installing firmware types from other D-Logic NFC device models such as JustID (NFC keyboard emulator) and µFR Zero (NFC Reader/Writer with SDK), effectively transforming the PC/SC Zero Smart Card Reader into other NFC reader types. The same applies viceversa, as JustID and µFR Zero devices also support installing PC/SC Zero firmware.
